Finding Happiness After Heartache

Losing someone near and dear to your heart is never easy. The loss of any relationship is painful wither you’re the one who leaves or the one being left. You feel all different kinds of emotions, sadness, anger, rejection and loneliness. But like the famous quote says, “The bad news is nothing lasts forever, the good news is nothing lasts forever”. Here is how I’ve learned to find happiness after heartache.
1. Let yourself grieve.
You are only human. You need to let yourself feel all of the feelings. It’s okay to cry. Find different ways to express your emotions. As time goes on the hurt will clear from your heart little by little and the tears will fall less frequent.
2. Spoil yourself.
A little TLC is never a bad thing after a break up. Buy yourself a new outfit. Go get your hair done. Do something to make you feel good about yourself. Feeling good about yourself will help you keep a good perspective on the situation.
3. Do some sort of activity.
Endorphins will help you feel so much better. Even going for a brisk walk, just getting your body moving will have you feeling better about yourself.
4. Deal with your emotions, learn a lesson from your pain.
They say we meet each person in our lives for a reason. whether it’s a good experience or a bad one we learn something from everyone we meet. After a break up you will go over the relationship In your head and analyze it the good, the bad and the ugly. Learn from this. Learn the things you did wrong, see what you can improve on yourself. Also learn what you want and don’t want in a partner, so you can be prepared for the future.
5. Have a support system
After a break up its really easy to feel lost. You might have not had much time for friends and what not during your relationship. But friends are going to be super important in your journey to healing and happiness. Reach out, call a friend, go out for a drink. Have someone who loves you and supports you.
6. Find Peace
Bring things into your life that bring you peace. Whether it be going for a walk by the ocean or dancing your heart out in your bedroom. Find something that makes you at peace with yourself.
